Digital Week announced to upskill manufacturing businesses

As businesses across the North East hone in on various government schemes to support their recovery and emergence from the Covid pandemic, Northumberland based business support programme, Business Northumberland has announced a “Digital Manufacturing Week”.

The week will start at the end of September- ready to upskill apprentices just starting, train furloughed staff ready to return to work at the end of October or get decision makers connecting with new leads through the web.

The six virtual events dedicated to North East based SMEs operating in the manufacturing industry will begin with a virtual networking event on Friday 25th September. The event is hoping to bring together like minded businesses operating in a manufacturing capacity, including business from apparel, energy, engineering, technology and any other sectors relating to manufacturing.

The networking event hosted by Advance Northumberland presents itself as an excellent opportunity to network with other businesses in the North East, potentially generating more job opportunities, ideas and even opportunities to advance your business within the region, celebrating the continued success of North Easts inward investment.

Avid Technology founder, Ryan Maughan will also be joining as a guest speaker to talk about his business and the benefit having a digital presence has had on its growth, the networking event is free for anyone to attend and you can register here.

Following the networking event, the digitally focused workshops designed to support the growth of manufacturing business online will commence from Monday 28th September and conclude Friday 2nd October offering support with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel, LinkedIn, customer relationship management, email and website content support.

Businesses can register multiple employees onto courses, meaning furloughed staff can take part from home as well as staff still operating onsite. Businesses looking to attend the week’s digital courses, must be registered onto the Business Northumberland programme.

Business Northumberland provides support to small and medium enterprises across the North East who are looking to sustain and grow their business online. The fully funded support programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Advance Northumberland, so there is no cost to eligible businesses when accessing the support.
