New Homes to be Added to Popular Northumberland Development

Ascent Homes has recently announced that due to significant demand at its Ellington development, 116 new homes will be added to complement the existing new builds.

The fourth and final phase of Wayside Point in Ellington is now underway meaning there will be a total of 328 new two, three and four-bedroom homes located on the site along with more green, communal spaces.

Paul Errington, Director at Ascent Homes said: “Our Wayside Point development has proven extremely desirable, especially among families, with great schools, attractions, and award-winning beaches right on its doorstep.

“In response to this popularity, we are introducing more spacious semi-detached and detached homes onto the site, all of which have been expertly designed for modern living and will be surrounded by new green areas for everyone to enjoy.

“The updated show homes, The Willow and The Oak opened in a brand-new sales arena earlier this year. They are available to view from Thursday to Monday for visitors to come and picture what their dream home could look like.”

The news comes in the same week that Ascent Homes’ senior site manager, Joe Riddell, won a regional ‘Pride in the Job’ award from The National House-Building Council (NHBC), the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance.

Mr Riddell said on the win: “Receiving this award is a great honour and was achieved with the support and hard work of the team.

“The award focuses on quality alongside health and safety which are our main focuses here at Ascent Homes. As a lifelong Northumberland resident, I am proud to work for a company that’s passionate about the county and encourages more people to enjoy a life here.”

Mr Errington added: “I am extremely proud of Joe and the team at Wayside Point, this award isn’t given lightly and there are rigorous measures in place by NHBC to name the top five percent of UK site managers; what an achievement.”

About NHBC Awards

Now in its 44th year and widely considered the ‘Oscars’ of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job has become the benchmark for exceptional site managers. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. Thousands of inspections, with meticulous scoring and detailed verifications, have taken place to determine the 449 winners from a field of more than 8,000 sites, representing the top 5 percent of UK site managers.

The Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2025.

NHBC is a non-profit distributing organisation with no shareholders. For more information, please visit www.nhbc.co.uk
